“Marius and Fanny” Jazz Opera: a unique musical event in France

To celebrate love, Marseille Jazz des cinq continents will present a Jazz Opera based on “Marius and Fanny” by Marcel Pagnol. With more than 30 musicians and singers on stage, including Hugh Coltman, winner of the 2017 Victoire du Jazz vocal, Irina Baïant, a young soprano virtuoso, André Minvielle, the troubadour of jazz, the Voice Messengers, one of Europe’s best jazz-vocal ensembles, the Big Band NDR from Hamburg, Tom Novembre, actor and crooner, and under the baton of Vladimir Cosma, the most popular composer of film music, the show promises a great musical spectacle and a lot of emotion for all.
In December, jazz celebrates the story of Marius and Fanny, a tale that takes place in the Old Port of Marseille, but that resonates in the hearts of lovers around the world.
