Fiftieth Anniversary of the Death of Marcel Pagnol

2024 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the passing of Marcel Pagnol. On this occasion, and thanks to the collaboration of Carlotta Films (Vincent Paul Boncourt), MK2 (Nathanael Karmitz), the French Cinematheque (Frédéric Bonnaud), and the Mediterranean Film Company (Nicolas Pagnol), numerous tributes will be paid to him at various festivals, as well as a national re-release of thirteen of his greatest films.

13 films broadcast

No fewer than 13 films will be shown, from ‘Marius‘ to ‘Manon of the Springs,’ including ‘Angèle‘ and ‘La Fille du Puisatier.‘ It’s the entire universe of Marcel Pagnol and Provence that will be celebrated.

Often broadcast on the small screen, Marcel Pagnol’s masterpieces will be discovered by a new generation on the big screen and in beautiful restored versions by Hiventy, thanks to Nicolas Pagnol and the Mediterranean Film Company, with the support of CNC, ARTE, the South Region, the Department 13, the Archives of Monaco, and the Franco-American Cultural Fund.
