As part of its support to creation, the Hotel Barrière Fouquet’s Paris hosted the 20th edition of the Marcel Pagnol Prize on Monday June 13th. An evening in the presence of many personalities organized in the heart of the historic salons of the famous brasserie. It was an opportunity for Fouquet’s Paris to reconnect with its history, which is closely linked to that of the writer.
Indeed, Marcel Pagnol used to meet daily his friends and other writers such as Marcel Achard, Steve Passeur and Henri Jeanson at his “favorite table” in the heart of Fouquet’s Paris brasserie. In memory of this unique link that united the famous writer to Fouquet’s, a plaque located in the restaurant’s historical heart, adorns the walls and signifies the location of this table, a true place of inspiration.
Created in 2000 by Floryse Grimaud, the Marcel Pagnol Prize rewards each year a French novel that is in line with “literature of the origins”, the one that evokes the discoveries and emotions of youth.
Thus, it was alongside Aïmée Reategui (Director of Communications at the Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s Paris) that the jury awarded this year’s Marcel Pagnol Prize to Serge Toubiana for his book Le fils de la maitresse (Arlea). Through this support, Le Fouquet’s Paris confirms its commitment to culture.
The winner of the Marcel Pagnol Award 2022 is Serge Toubiana for “Le fils de la maîtresse” (The Mistress’ Son) published by Arlea – Collection La Rencontre directed by Anne Bourguignon.
A name famous throughout the world, a mythical place overlooking two prestigious avenues, the most famous of which is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, the Champs-Elysées. And yet the Hotel Fouquet’s Paris remains a haven of peace, a cocoon carefully protected from the tumult of the city.
The Hotel Fouquet’s Paris seduces with its aesthetic of a discreet hotel with a meticulous design, its garden in the heart of the capital, its 500m² spa and its luminous rooms. There is nothing overpowering or flashy, but each time the terraces, alcoves or lounges stand out like so many settings where time can suspend its flight… An almost ideal definition of authentic luxury.
A hotel that attracts Parisians and visitors alike thanks to its restaurant Le Joy, a true bubble of serenity where tasty dishes are served made exclusively from French farm produce, its rooftop Le Marta, a mecca for Parisian parties, its Legacy concept store, and its five Exceptional Suites with a Parisian decor offering an exceptional view of the Arc de Triomphe and the world’s most beautiful avenue.
